Strong Performances on the South Course
Danny Walker and Hayden Springer trail closely behind at 7-under-par. Walker excelled on the more challenging South Course, where the scoring average was 72.487 compared to 70.218 on the North. His bogey-free round highlighted precision and control, impressive for a rookie in just his fourth PGA Tour start.
Lanto Griffin, Zac Blair, Zach Johnson, and Aldrich Potgieter followed at 6-under-par, all playing the North Course. Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama, the top-ranked player in the field, managed a solid 4-under-par 68 on the South Course.
