CGX and Junior Worlds Partnership
A New Strategic Partnership
College Golf Experience (CGX) recently announced a strategic partnership with IMG Academy Junior World Championships. Their goal is to offer Exposure Camps for junior golfers. These camps provide opportunities to connect with college coaches and gain insights into college golf.
Founded in 1968 by the San Diego Junior Golf Association, the Junior World Championships aim to unite young golfers globally. It’s the world’s largest international junior golf event with golfers from 56 countries and 42 states. The strategic partnership with CGX intends to enhance the overall experience for players and families.
Megan Mahoney, Executive Director of San Diego Junior Golf Association and Junior World, gave her thoughts on the partnership. “The Junior World Golf Championships annually welcomes over 130 coaches to Torrey Pines to recruit the best junior golfers in the game. We are proud to host an event that continues to be a difference maker in the recruiting process for players and college golf programs. Our partnership with CGX will enhance the overall experience for the players and their families. It also gives them an incredible opportunity to interact directly with coaches and learn about the recruiting process.”
CGX camps are designed for ages 12-18 and feature educational seminars on many aspects of college golf. The camps are led by college coaches. CGX camps also include golf practice sessions focused on skill growth. Additionally, there are 36 holes of on-course coach and player engagement. Parents are invited to join in every step at CGX camps.
Exposure Camps will take place in the San Diego area around the Junior World Championships. The first camp will take place at the Temecula Creek Inn on July 6. The second camp will be held on July 12-13 at Carlton Oaks Golf Club.
